Sara - love that you are blogging! I've always wondered what I'd do in this situation as I'm the last of the Whites of my generation - with me, the name goes. Yet, uh, it's not exactly an uncommon name - but professionally, it's what I'm known as.
Here's my proposed route: I always thought I'd keep my name professionally (unless he has some uber-awesome name), then personally take my as yet unknown husband's name - then as far as kids go, for all activities involving them, eg holiday cards, signing school papers, whatever - go with married name. That said, my mom and I had different last names as I was growing up, and it never really bothered me. Keep writing!

Darling!
I should be facing the same dilema but the thing is that I've been Carolina Vallejo for too long. And even if I know of at least another 5 Carolina Vallejos of about my same age I have the .com. I'm too much my last name and I love the inability for people to pronounce it.
Changing your name is a big deal, language is a big deal, semantics are a big deal. I won't change my name because I am not Mrs Egashira, I'm Carolina Vallejo.
Your friends are right, who cares what people think. I care about what you think. Does it feel that you are giving up something by hanging your name? Then don´t change it. Do you feel that you won´t be a family unless you change it? Then do it.
Go to the Getty Museum and sit down on one of those magnificent arcs facing LA. Now what are you saying, Ms Bremen?

Very good analysis, as it usually happens after reading the Times selection, I was stunned at some inclusions (and omissions) of the top ten.

If interested in a more modest scale, our museum website was totally renovated in 2008. Here we explain how we did this process and the difficulties we encountered
http://conference.archimuse.com/blog/conxa/im_also_web_redesign_survivor_after_mw093

and in 2009 we put the collection online and entered on Social Media
Comments (and critics) welcome!

Nice descriptions... good crit, too. I like the notion of the extension of the park. also, how confusing the signs that are supposed to un-confuse you are. I can't figure out why this is so hard, can you? They know this is a problem, they've put millions behind it...and still.
Focus (maybe in your manifesto) on both the overwhelming-ness and underwhelming-ness of the technology. Think how much time and $ went into making those techie programs, and in maintaining them. How would you handle that?

" It was interesting how many people were in the chat room. It was like a weird, alternate universe where the popular girl really does get her own tv show where people just watch and worship her."

Striking.. The interweb does create this strange alternate universe.. Something about us.

This is a very thorough review. You should compare your notes to Eyal. I wonder if you went on a weekday and he on a weekend. You got the feel of what they are trying to do, I think. It is a city zoo, and uses its locale well, as you say. I think you are hinting at an important observation about captions. Kids will be looking at the animals. Grown-ups have a shorter attention span, and think there's something to do but look. So they can read the caption, and then tell their kids some interesting fact.. hey sally, did you know this is the only 'whatever' to have "whatever.' Great! the parent is the best teacher, seems super smart in front of their kid...win-win.
Love the idea of a great make-out spot. There was an article several years ago in NY magazine on the best make-out spots in NYC, btw.

I like your analysis of the text.. reminded me of the MOCA idea. Was there age appropriate text too. Say if Bobby were learning to read. Is there anything you'd change about the zoo?
